About The Centre for Excellence in Learning and Teaching The Centre for Excellence in Learning and Teaching is an exciting new development at the University of Derby. As the new Head of Centre I am delighted to share our vision and aspirations to be a leading institution for academic excellence. The Centre comprises our Technology Enhanced Learning team, the University’s Joint Honours Scheme and our Learning and Teaching team. Our Mission We are committed to excellence in learning, teaching and pedagogic practice through communities of academic scholarship, innovation and research, leading to an outstanding and transformational experience for every student. Digital practice is a key part of this experience and we have recently launched an ambitious and challenging new strategy to embrace and develop digital capabilities. With the award of TEF Gold and recently being shortlisted for the Global Teaching Excellence Awards we are in a terrific position to realise our ambitions and create new opportunities for our staff to be at the forefront of transformational educational practice.
